In this applet, students are led to discover, without words or angle measures, that a 30-60-90 triangle is half an equilateral triangle. They are also led to discover that the length of the hypotenuse of a 30-60-90 triangle = double the length of its shorter leg, and are prompted to solve for the longer leg in simple radical form.
