Hedy Lamarr in "Zeigfield's Girl" - as well as being an actress she was a talented inventor & the year after this photo was taken she patented (with friend George Antheil) an early version of frequency-hopping to avoid an enemy jamming controls of torpedoes. This idea led to the modern concepts for spread-spectrum communication technology such as Bluetooth, COFDM & CDMA. Definitely not just a pretty face.
