Edwardian Era

The Edwardian era in the UK is the period covering the reign of King Edward VII, 1901 to 1910. The death of Queen Victoria in January 1901 and the succession of her son Edward marked the end of the Victorian era. While Victoria had shunned society, Edward was the leader of a fashionable elite that set a style influenced by the art and fashions of Continental Europe—perhaps because of the King's fondness for travel.

Carmen de Villers was a French actress, singer and dancer during the Edwardian Age.
One article of the time stated, "Carmen de Villers is one of the most photographed woman in the whole world”. Considering how very popular she was in the Belle Époque period in France, it is a shame no information about her life and work can be located. What we do have, are numerous photos of her and her outstanding beauty.🌷
