Since men were being sent to war women needed to fill factory positions to continue to make war supplies. I would consider Rosie The Riviter propaganda a primary source as this is an actual poster from this time. I learned that while the men had an important role in war one could argue that the woman's role became essential and without them impossible for America to continue.
