Canosan polichrome pottery volute krater, Apulia, early 3rd century B.C. The obverse with a hanging pink fillet, the neck centered by a molded frontal head of Dionysos, wearing an elaborate pink, white and blue fillet of ivy and berries, the ties painted along the shoulders, framed by two winged Erotes seated on square platforms along the shoulders, each wearing a pink mantle folded over to blue at the waist, the volutes with female mascaroons, 39.4 cm high.
