Ottoman jarid javelins (short throwing spears), 18th century, used in the eastern world from Turkey to India, two javelins with 8 1/2 inches blades square cross section and wood hafts 23 inches long ending with a chased silver cap. The Pair is housed in a wood scabbard with two compartments, covered with velvet and mounted with chased silver mounts. Total length 35 inches.
