This vintage 50s style dress makes me want to twirl around in circles! The directions in this blog are for a little girl's dress. However, I'm sure you could adapt these into an adult sized dress. There are a few things I would definitely do differently if I were making this dress for myself. The sleeves on the original dress appear to be more of a cap, fitted sleeve and are lined with the same fabric as the rest of the garment. Add darts on the bodice and give sash a folded appearance.

I would make the bow a different color, anything bright to make the dress pop out more.
