Sushi-TAKO Octopus Season:Summer to Autumn Tako has been eaten by Japanese for a very,very long time .Evidence of octopus catching was found in remains from the Yayoi era(about 2300-1700 years ago).Even today,two-thirds of octopus caught in the world is eaten in Japan. Tako is also a popular animation and merchandise character,in spite of historic legends depicting gigantic octopus as monsters in some areas of Japan.
