One of the oldest cities in Norway, Trondheim was founded approximately 1,000 years ago on the southern shores of the Trondheimsfjord at the mouth of the River Nidelva. Woods and mountains are naturally on the agenda for those who wish to venture further afield. This photo shows Nidaros Cathedral – the largest Cathedral in Scandanavia. Nearly 250 miles inside the Arctic Circle, clues as to your location are everywhere. Bars stock Arctic Beer and the Arctic Cathedral resembles a geometric glacier. So too the Polaria Arctic Centre, whose exhibits recreate a polar bear den and Arctic snowstorm.
