Blue Lake, Valle d'Aosta, Italy - The Aosta Valley is an autonomous region in the far northwestern corner of Italy. It is the least densely populated region in all of Italy and is dominated by alpine landscapes. Skiing conditions are good in the wintertime, and it is usually not overcrowded. This region of Italy is also home to Mount Blanc, the highest peak in Europe at more than 15,000 feet.
