The Spanish Steps are a set of steps in Rome, Italy, climbing a steep slope between the Piazza di Spagna at the base and Piazza Trinità dei Monti, dominated by the Trinità dei Monti church at the top. The Scalinata is the widest staircase in Europe.
Argentinian artist Leandro Erlich created this illusion of people walking underwater called The Swimming Pool, for The Century Museum of Contemporary Art in Kanazawa, Japan. It's a piece of glass with water on top of it, and empty space on the bottom.
This view of nearly galaxies is the deepest visible-light image of the cosmos. Called the Hubble Ultra Deep Field, this galaxy-studded view represents a "deep" core sample of the universe, cutting across billions of light-years.
