Capo d'Orso, near our villa Mascaratu, is a must see. A classic example of Sardinia's natural rock formations this famous climbing spot looks uncannily like a bear! There is also quite a view...

Isola di Spargi as seen from our villa. A wonderful day trip, simply rent a boat or go on one of the locally run boat tours. It's very fine sandy beaches and clear blue water make it a highly desirable local attraction.

La Maddalena, a town on an Island of the same name. An easy boat ride from Palau. For more about this historic town check out this wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/La_Maddalena

Cala Luna or Cala Gonone is well worth a visit with it's amazing limestone cliffs and caves and typical white sandy sardinian beaches a beautiful contrast to it's crystal blue waters.

La Maddalena Archipelago, I highly recommend hiring a boat and visiting these magnificent Islands which include the pink sanded Budelli and Isola Caprera. A truly wonderful day out http://www.parks.it/parco.nazionale.arcip.maddalena/Eindex.php

The beautiful beach and dunes of Piscinas. Thanks to sardegnaturismo for the pic. Described nicely by ilquintomoro "Its impressive 100m high dunes have been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, and each year the wind sweeps them into new, fascinating shapes and sizes. Spanning three kilometres, Piscinas is considered the greatest desert of Europe and interlaces sands with shrubs to provide shelter for the sprightly Sardinian red deer."

Cala di Trana, a beautiful beach which can be accessed by a 20-25 minute walk from our villa (Aquila Bianca) or a short boat ride along the coast. A brilliant day out, it is sheltered from some of Sardinia's stronger winds making it a good spot when the Sea is rough. (thanks to Sardegna digital library for the pic)

"Su Gorroppu Gorge is located between the Supramonte of Urzulei and Orgosolo; with its 14 km of length and its limestone cliffs that stand out more than 450 m in height, is considered one of the deepest canyons in Europe."charmingsardinia.com thanks to sardegnaturismo.it for the pick.
