[ Andrea Papi - 01/24 / Urbino = Italy ] Termometro clinico a mercurio piegato in un angolo di 37° in corrispondenza dell’omonimo indice di temperatura. In matematica il simbolo del grado è adoperato per indicare l'ampiezza di un angolo, nelle scienze naturali il grado indica i valori di temperatura; in quest’opera il simbolo indica entrambi i valori simultaneamente. // In mathematics the degree symbol is used to indicate the width of an angle, in natural sciences the degree indicates temperature values; in this work the symbol indicates both values simultaneously.

CONDIVISIONE
PRIVACY EXHIBIT Acoustic earphones to which the horn speaker of a megaphone has been applied externally for each speaker. The work constitutes a paradoxical object: acoustic headphones that broadcast audio publicly. Earphones or headphones were invented to let a single listener listen to an audio track privately, through soundproofing; the author modifies this object by applying megaphones to each speaker which nullifies the original function of the earphones. Behind this work we read a criticism of the use of diffusion of the private dimension of users through social media to attract public interest.

A SCREW THAT TIGHTENS Hybrid object with the head of a Phillips screw and the tip of a slotted screwdriver. The work combines the tool and purpose for which the tool was designed in a single object. The title transforms the work into a metaphor: politics, instead of being the tool through which to solve a problem, becomes the means to prolong and hinder the realization of the solution. Work belonging to the Superbonus collection.

The work criticizes the tax relief governed by article 119 of legislative decree no. 34/2020: deductions and reimbursements for construction interventions. The relief has proven to be a speculative game as the cost of building materials has more than doubled since the introduction of the decree. Despite the subsidy, the costs for renovations were more expensive than before the decree: «[…] with this subsidy you pay half more than double».
