A Corporal of the 78th Highlanders in winter dress in Canada. The 78th were famously based in first Canada (Montreal) and then Nova Scotia (Halifax). The regiment made such an impression whilst at the latter post (with its long-standing Scottish associations) that there is a regiment of re-enactors who perpetuate the dress and memory of the 78th. This unit has been awarded the freedom of the City.
