Gnatian situla, attributed to the Laurel Spray Group, 320-310 B.C. The body decorated in white, red and yellow with stylized grape and tendril below tongue and bead bands, with mold-made masks applied to the shoulders below the arching handle, one side with Herakles with curling locks, curving mustache and full beard, the limbs knotted below his chin, the other side with a lion head spout, a strainer on the interior, 29.8 cm high including handle. The body with two zones of ribbing, the zones on the obverse divided by a band of ovolo, the upper zone in three sections separated by rectangular panels each enclosing a pair of doves, the rim centered by a profile female head flanked by birds and scrolling tendrils, the edge of the foot with a band of dots, the twin vertical handles each with a Herakles knot, 20.4 cm high.
