Roman art, Aeneid incipit, roman epigrapy, North African tegula sherd inscribed in late Roman cursive with beginning of the Aeneid "arma virumqu[e ..." , the third line reads "iactatu[s ...", the second line should come from line two of the Aeneid "di uenique la[", except for 'di', these letters and their sequence all occur in Aeneid I, 2–3, 'Lauinaque uenit | litora', 9.7 cm long. Roman theatre masks, Greek terracotta pot supports with mask of Papposeilenos with long striated beard, in Greek mythology, Silenus was a companion and tutor to the wine god Dionysus, he is typically older than the satyrs of the Dionysian retinue (thiasos) and sometimes considerably older, in which case he may be referred to as a Papposilenus, 12.2 cm high max.
