Marcello Mastroianni (1924-1996), was an Italian actor. Best known for starring roles in the films of Fellini and De Sica. Actor among the most versatile of Italian cinema, he was able to maneuver equally well both in dramatic roles and in the comic ones. With Gassman, Sordi, Tognazzi and Manfredi was one of the "musketeers" of the Italian comedy. He was three times nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor. He obtained on two different occasions the Cannes Film Festival award for Best Actor.
