We have the pleasure to welcome the giant Jupiter in these days! It will be at a distance of only about 600.000.000 km from us. This type of event is called "opposition" because the planet is (for us) at the opposite compared to the Sun. Clear Skies! ;)

The Pleiades (M45) also called "The Seven Sisters". This is a wonderful bluish reflection #nebula (it reflects the light of near stars). It is clearly visible from moderately light polluted skies. Two of the most beautiful summer #nebulae of the #milkyway: the Lagoon Nebula (M8) on the bottom and the Trifid Nebula (M20). The first one is an emission nebula, the second one also has a reflection component. More info about this nebulae: http://bluejourneyastro.altervista.org #astrophotography #telescope #deepsky
