Coiffe: early 17th century, English, "embroidered in blackwork with gilt embellishments with peascods."
Textile
Textile, 16th century White linen frontal made in eleven perpendicular panels of linen, which are outlined in narrow border of embroidery, stylized vine, in blue silks. Insertions of needlepoint lace, (four) also perpendicular; accross bottom a wider band of blue embroidery, a band of lace insertion, and another band of embroidery. Edged with narrow blue silk fringe. Stitch "punto scritto" - counted running.
